Mental Health & Wellness Commitment

At More Than Foundation, we believe healing must live in every part of our mission—including how we treat the people who carry it forward.

We are proud to be one of the first global nonprofits to formally integrate daily mental health and wellness breaks into our workplace structure, across all roles and all countries we serve.

What This Means for Our Team:

  • 1 Hour of Every 8-Hour Workday Is Protected for Mental Health time is paid, uninterrupted, and sacred. It can be used for rest, reflection, prayer, journaling, or simply quiet.

  • 1.5 Hours When Physical Movement Is Chosen. Team members who choose to walk, stretch, exercise, or move their bodies during their break receive extra time to support holistic wellbeing.

  • 1 Hour Paid Lunch Is Standard. Meals are not rushed or skipped. We believe nourishment is a core part of health.

  • No Questions Asked, No Guilt Attached. These breaks are a right, not a reward. We trust our teams to care for themselves as they care for others.

Why We Do This:

Trauma-informed work must begin with trauma-informed workplaces. Burnout, exhaustion, and secondary trauma are real. But so are joy, dignity, and restoration.

We cannot build a more just and healed world unless our people are whole, rested, and well.

At More Than Foundation, wellbeing isn't extra. It's essential. We don't just work differently. We rest differently, too.
